AS Media Opening Title Sequence Analysis...

What Went Well?

They started off by using another film producers company logo/introduction, which i thought was really good, made it look legitimate. The fonts were consistent when introducing actors. They also used slight animation or effects to make it look like the font was on the boxes. They had a really good soundtrack to go with the opening sequence, this made it esier for the audience to guess what the genre was. They also made the title of the film big, bold and red. Which connotes importance and passion.

What Could They Improve?

They could improve the filming itself, they used a handheld which made the shots shaky and hard to focus, they would be better off using a tripod. They also introduced the producers two times and in different fonts, which went very consistent; one of them matched the title and the other matched the characters.

What Went Well?

The beginning of the opening sequence features a good soundtrack and gives the audiencae an insight into kind of genre the film is. The shots are matched and there are some good angle shots included. They introduced the people who helped with the film first, rather than the people who starred in it. They also had good use of animation with the fonts.

What Could They Improve?

Nothing really, except the lighting for some of the shots were different. It should be consistent.

What Went Well?
They had a voiceover/ narrative that introduces the film. It also suggests the genre. The camera angles and shots were very good. Their use of chronology to open to film was portrayed really well and their use of props and characters was really good.

What Could They Improve?
I think they should of put the title at the end to introduce the film better after introducing the characters and the producers.

What Can I Do To Make My Film Successful?

I could use the Match on Action shot and the Over the Shoulder shot when the characters move or speak. I would also use Synchronous Sound and Sound Motif's to imply the genre. I would use a handheld to add effect or pace and a tripod for a serious scene. For the opening scene I would use animation which a lot of symbolic codes-hearts and stars and pinks and reds.

What Am I Going To Avoid Happening?

Locking the lighting on the camera so that the natural lighting is the same in every shot. Match the Shot's correctly and make sure the sequence flows. Use the correct codes for a stereotypical RomCom.

I would also match a nice soundtrack to the opening and make sure that it implies the genre to the audience.
